In the Community
In addition to various local school and civic causes, Schuman Cheese and its employees proudly support No Child Hungry through weekly and yearly giving campaigns. No Child Hungry is a nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood hunger by ensuring kids have reliable access to nutritious meals. We also support and donate food and funds to numerous community food banks within 50 miles of our nationwide plants and offices.
Alongside these initiatives, each October we organize a “Pink Day,” during which all employees are encouraged to wear pink and contribute donations in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and curing breast cancer by providing essential funding for global research into tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, metastasis, and survivorship.Proceeds from this event are directed toward local breast cancer education and treatment programs.
In November, we host “Blue Day,” inviting employees to dress in blue and make donations to Movember. Since 2003, Movember has supported over 1,250 men’s health projects worldwide, advancing men’s health research and transforming how services engage and assist men.
